  1. Hi, Paula! I just found your site through Pinterest and I love it! I taught Pre-K for many years in a private daycare facility. I decided to return to school and have just graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am looking forward to following your blog and using some of your wonderful ideas! Thank you!

  3. Hello! I just found your site through Pinterest and your lovely shape drawing packet. Thank you for sharing that! I have a BA in Music Ed but have been teaching preschool/Pre-K for 14 years now. I feel like it is my true calling :) I will be following your blog and am happy to find someone with a passion for the preschooler, too.

  4. Thank you Miss Shelli and you are most welcome! I'm so glad you found your true calling. Preschoolers are so much fun! With all the singing we do in pre-k I'm sure your music background comes in very handy! Thanks for stopping by, it's nice to meet you!

  6. Paula, what helped you decided to go back to preschool? I've been teaching preschool for a while now and am considering going back to school to get my credentials, so I can teach Kindergarten. I'm conflicted, because I do have a passion for preschool and the freedom I have in my classroom and curriculum. Any advise would be appreciated :)

Looking forward to reading and following your blog

  7. Hi Nathalie, so nice to meet you! I worked in daycare, preschools, and ran my own daycare in my home for a total of about 11 years. During that time, I worked with children from birth to school age. One day, one of the parents of my students made the comment that I should go back to school to become a teacher. I had never really thought about it, I was married and a mother of 3 young boys. Nervously, I decided to go for it! I knew I loved working with kids. Why not get paid more to do what I love?! My hope at the time was to get hired by a school district with a preschool program. After I graduated, I was offered a 1st grade position. I had done my student teaching in 1st grade and liked it a lot so I accepted the offer. I taught 1st grade for 3 years until my school needed an extra kindergarten teacher for 1 year. My principal asked me to change grade levels for that year. I knew I liked kindergarten children too so I was excited for the change. During that year, my school decided to start a preschool program the following year. This is what I had been waiting for! For me, it would be hard to go back to the upper grade levels. I absolutely LOVE preschool! I agree with you that there are more freedoms with curriculum in preschool. I would recommend you getting a degree in Early Childhood. You might not know which grade level is your favorite until you have the chance to teach a few different ones. There's my story, I hope it helped! Good luck to you!
